Tongue Tied by Peter Griffiths

tonguetiedTongue Tied opens in 1876 in North Wales with two young men who are firm friends. Soon, one has to leave for the South, but before they part they take part in an act of camaraderie; they each have a little red dragon tattooed on their left shoulder. All this takes a mere twelve pages and the whole of the rest of the book deals with the consequences of this act and its effect on the two families over the next three generations. In her review in The Celtic Connection, Mary Seaman wrote, “Intricate, multi-stranded end games yield a masterful conclusion.” She ends her review with “Peter Griffiths’ mystical novel Tongue Tied trills with grace notes on every page as it synchronises the harmonies of bloodlines and brotherhood in this sensational literary aria.”
